Celebrity Designer Stylist Kenny “Kas” Flanagan Drops Exclusive BTS of Nelly & Ashanti Ahead of Major Collection Launch…

Celebrity designer and stylist Kenny “Kas” Flanagan is giving fans a rare look behind the curtain, releasing exclusive images and video of him dressing power couple Nelly and Ashanti in his original designs. The behind-the-scenes footage arrives just days before Kas unveils his highly anticipated Welcome Black Collection, debuting at the end of August and into early September 2025.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. Nelly and Ashanti have been singing Kas’s praises on their hit new series Nelly & Ashanti on Peacock, spotlighting the man behind some of their standout red-carpet and on-stage looks. Known for designs that command attention, Kas’s work blends modern edge with classic couture — making his pieces favorites among stars like Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Sherri Shepherd.

This fall, Kas is doubling down on his signature presence with two major projects: the Welcome Black Collection — described as “couture with teeth” for its bold silhouettes and unapologetic storytelling — and his boundary-pushing line W.E.T. (With Exceptional Taste).

“I wanted to disrupt the idea that fashion has to be gendered,” says Kas. “W.E.T. is about attitude, not anatomy. It’s a line that empowers anyone to feel bold, unapologetic, and exceptional — regardless of labels.”

A protégé of Yves Saint Laurent, Kas made history as the first African American male couture designer to have his work featured at Saks Fifth Avenue. Over three decades, his designs have appeared on magazine covers, television screens, and red carpets around the globe. With accolades including the America’s Prince of Fashion Award, Career Achievement Award in Fashion, and a Proclamation from the State of Maryland, Kas has built a career defined by vision and excellence.

Now represented by Hungerford Management Group, Kas’s next chapter is already building massive buzz. “Kas has always been a visionary,”says Co-CEO Dana Hicks-Hungerford.
