April 18, 2018 - Fresh off her epic performance for this year's Coachella, Beyoncé has announced that four Historically Black Colleges & Universities will receive the newly-established Homecoming Scholars Award Program for the upcoming 2018-2019 academic year. The schools are to include Bethune-Cookman University, Wilberforce University, Xavier University, and Tuskegee University.

The new grant program was organized directly through Beyoncé's BeyGOOD initiative, and will award winners with a $25,000 grant toward their education expenses. The program will expand to all qualifying students at the four universities, regardless of gender. "We salute the rich legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities," states Ivy McGregor, Director of Philanthropy and Corporate Relations at Parkwood Entertainment which houses BeyGOOD. "We honor all institutions of higher learning for maintaining culture and creating environments for optimal learning which expands dreams and the seas of possibilities for students."

Disciplines being awarded will include literature, creative arts, African-American studies, science, education, business, communications, social sciences, computer science and engineering. All applicants are required to maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5. All finalists and winners will be selected by the universities, and winners will be announced this summer.
